DATA LICENSING

1. License overview

When you subscribe to SG Datalytics and download a dataset, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that dataset in accordance with your subscription plan. You do not own the dataset itself — you are licensed to use it under the terms described below.

3. What you can do

• Analyse: Use datasets for statistical analysis, modelling, visualisation, and reporting.
• Publish: Include findings, charts, and derived statistics in academic papers, blog posts, presentations, and reports — with proper citation (see our Citation Guide).
• Build: Use data to inform business decisions, market analysis, policy briefs, and strategic planning.
• Integrate: Load datasets into your own databases, dashboards, or analytics tools for internal use (Pro and Enterprise plans).

4. What you cannot do

• Redistribute: You may not share, resell, sublicense, or make raw datasets available to third parties, whether free or paid.
• Re-identify: You may not attempt to de-anonymise or re-identify any individuals within datasets.
• Misattribute: You may not present SG Datalytics data as your own original data collection without attribution.
• Scrape: You may not use automated tools to systematically download datasets beyond your plan's scope.

5. Attribution requirements

All plans require attribution when data is used in published work. The standard attribution format is:

6. Duration and termination

Your license to use downloaded datasets remains active for as long as your subscription is current. If your subscription lapses or is terminated, you may retain datasets already downloaded but may not download new ones. The usage rights described above continue to apply to previously downloaded data.

7. Enterprise and custom licenses

Enterprise customers may negotiate custom licensing terms, including redistribution rights, white-label permissions, and expanded team access. Contact us at info@sgdatalytics.org to discuss custom arrangements.
